SPORTFIVE has reached an agreement to acquire 4sports Hockey, an internationally established athlete management agency specialising in ice hockey. The acquisition expands SPORTFIVE’s athlete management business into international ice hockey and represents a further step in the growth of its global athlete management offering.

4sports Hockey brings specialist expertise and an established international network to SPORTFIVE’s global commercial platform, strengthening the group’s presence in international hockey.

Headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, 4sports Hockey operates internationally with offices in Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Finland and the United States. Its roots date back to 2006, with the current independent company established in 2019. The agency combines former professional players, experienced agents and hockey specialists, providing highly personal representation and support to athletes across European leagues and the NHL. Its services span player representation, player development, career planning, contract negotiations, as well as off-ice and business services.

The acquisition complements SPORTFIVE’s existing athlete management activities across golf, football coaches and tennis, adding ice hockey as another important pillar of its growing international athlete business.

By bringing the two organizations together, SPORTFIVE and 4sports aim to combine 4sports’ deep hockey expertise, established international network and player-first approach with SPORTFIVE’s global footprint and broader commercial, marketing and media capabilities. The combination is expected to create additional opportunities for athletes while supporting the further development of the business across key European and North American hockey markets.

Founder Daniel Giger will continue to lead the business alongside Peter Forsberg, Johan Finnström, Micke Johansson and Timo Machleid, supported by the company’s 20-member team. With offices in Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Finland, the USA and Canada, 4sports represents around 300 clients across leading European leagues and the NHL, providing a strong platform for continued international growth.

Daniel Giger, Founder and CEO of 4sports Hockey, said: « Joining SPORTFIVE gives us the opportunity to build on what has made 4sports successful while significantly expanding the platform available to our athletes. SPORTFIVE’s international reach, global sales organization and relationships across the sports industry open up exciting opportunities for our business and our clients. At the same time, our commitment to personal relationships, deep hockey expertise and putting our players first will remain at the heart of everything we do. »

The combination brings together complementary strengths and marks another step in building a broader and more international athlete management platform across multiple sports.
